Fixed-point iteration: mapping between number lines

Author:
GeoGebra Institute of MEI
This activity represents fixed-point iteration as mappings between number lines each time the iteration is applied. The function can be edited, where has been rearranged to give . The value of can be varied by dragging the red point. The right-hand graph shows the equivalent iteration as a staircase/cobweb diagram on x-y axes.
