Interior Exterior Angle Polygon Exploration

1. In each of your groups of four pair up with only one computer for every two people. 2. Construct a regular triangle with the polygon tool. 3. Extend the side of each segment, creating an exterior angle. 4. Create a table in each of your notebooks with the column headings " Number of sides", "Interior Angle" and "Sum of Interior Angles" 5. Now measure the interior angles of the triangle and the exterior angles. Find the sum of each of these and record in your table. Move the vertices of the triangle do the sums of interiors or exterior angles change? 5. Now construct a quadrilateral and repeat steps four and five from above for each angle. Make sure to record your findings in the table provided. 6. Do the same for a pentagon, hexagon, etc. until you find a pattern.
9. What is the sum of exterior angles of a polygon? 7. What is the sum of the interior angles of any polygon? 8. Write down directions for how to find the measure of an interior angle of a regular polygon. 9. Write directions for how to find each exterior angle of a regular polygon.
