Point A is the starting position of the robot. Point P is the target. The value t is measured in seconds. B is the robots position after t seconds.
The blue curve gives the "rate of change" of the length of the dashed oragne segment PB. The green curve gives the "length" of the dashed orange segment PB.
The blue curve is the derivative of the green curve.
