Mr. Won is taking his class on a field trip. He wants to find a random way to choose a student to be the class leader on the trip. There are 36 students in his class. He assigns each student a unique number from 1 through 36. He decides to use 2 dice to determine which student is selected. Each die has 6 sides, numbered 1 though 6. The product of the dice will be the number of the student. Is his selection fair?

Find all possible outcomes of Mr. Won’s number generator.

Determine if selecting the student number follows a pattern.

Determine if any given student number from 1 through 36 is equally likely to be selected.

Identify whether the method fairly selects students.
