Tangents to curves on surfaces
Below you can enter a function of two variables, as well as a parametric curve. You can turn on and off:
the surface;
the curve;
the image of the curve under the function;
the cylinder defined by the curve;
and the tangent to the image of the curve.
You can also move a point along the curve to see the tangent change.
The slope of this tangent is calculated using the chain rule.
