M controls how many numbers in your sequence given by the function rule, f(1) to f(M).
The in number lets you locate a particular value.
The command to find spot n in the spiral is spiralspot[n].
Hint: one of the neatest patterns Megan found is with the figurate numbers, triangular, pentagonal, etc. Cf. MathWorld
