2nd Malfatti-Rabinowitz point

P, the 2nd Malfatti-Rabinowitz point is constructed as follows:
  • Construct the three Malfatti circles C1, C2, and C3 of triangle ABC.
  • Define the touchpoints Y1 and Z1 of C1 with the sides of the triangle and do cyclically for the touchpoints of the other two circles, defining Z2, X2, X3, and Y3.
  • Define the points X, Y and Z as the midpoints of the touchpoints on each side of ABC.
  • The lines AX, BY, and CZ concur in P, triangle center X(1143)
The barycentric coordinates of this point depend on the angles of the triangle.

2de punt van Malfatti-Rabinowitz

P, het 2de punt van Malfatti-Rabinowitz construeer je als volgt:
  • Construeer de drie cirkels van Malfatti C1, C2 en C3 van driehoek ABC.
  • Definieer de raakpunten Y1 en Z1 van C1 met de zijden b en c van driehoek ABC en definieer analoog de raakpunten van de andere cirkels Z2, X2, X3 en Y3.
  • Definieer de punten X, Y en Z als de middens van de raakpunten op elke zijde van ABC.
  • De rechten AX, BY en CZ snijden elkaar in P, driehoekscentrum X(1143)
De barycentrische coördinaten van dit punt worden bepaald door de hoeken van de driehoek.
