Enriched Environment with GeoGebra for Learning Functions

Abstract
This paper describes the methodology and resultsof implementing a constructivist teaching strategy with focus on undergraduate teaching functions. The research was carried out with freshmen of Business Administration, at two universities in Bogotá-Colombia, in 2013. The study
examines the pedagogical contribution of the strategy that is to propose a workshop called "Developing boxes - building functions" as a guide, which part of a real-world situation and is supported by a website: www.funciomaticas.com, containing the theoretical elements, activities, models and interactive simulations where the GeoGebra software is used. The strategy aims to
strengthen the significant student learning of concepts related to the functions: linear, affine, quadratic and applications, thus making more visible the relationship between mathematics and reality. In addition, to get interest of the students in the study of this science and enhance the development of mathematical skills in context.
Resumen
Este trabajo describe la metodología y los resultados obtenidos de aplicar una estrategia pedagógica con enfoque constructivista en estudiantes de pregrado para la enseñanza de funciones. La investigación se llevó a cabo con estudiantes de primer semestre de Administración de Empresas, en dos universidades de Bogotá-Colombia, en el año 2013. El estudio indaga la contribución pedagógica de la estrategia que consiste en proponer un taller
denominado "Elaborando cajas - construyendo funciones" como hilo conductor, el cual parte de una situación del mundo real y se apoya mediante una página web: www.funciomaticas.com, que contiene los elementos teóricos, actividades, modelos y simulaciones interactivas donde se utiliza el software GeoGebra. La estrategia tiene como objetivo fortalecer el aprendizaje significativo en los estudiantes de los conceptos relacionados con las funciones: lineal, afín,
cuadrática y sus aplicaciones, haciendo de este modo, más visible la relación entre matemáticas y la realidad. Además, interesar más a los estudiantes en el estudio de esta ciencia y mejorar el desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas en contexto.
