Below, you have similar triangles ABC and DEF. You can adjust the size of sides AB and De using the given sliders. You can also adjust angles A and D or B and E using sliders.
1. Change AB so that it is not equal to DE. What do you notice about the shapes of ABC and DEF?
2. Change AB to a value of 3 and DE to a value of 6. What do you notice about the corresponding sides? The corresponding angles?
3. Look at the ratios of the corresponding sides. What pattern do you see?
4. Adjust the angles. What do you notice about the shapes of both triangles?
5. How would you describe similar triangles?
