D2. The “Slider” tool
Create a slider
A slider is a point on a segment with a list of numbers. You can change the number by moving the point through the segment. The sliders have a minimum value, a maximum and an increment. Sliders are one of the most important tools in GeoGebra, they will give you the possibility to go through a list of numbers very quickly without typing them with the keyboard.
1st. Activate the "Slider" tool
.
2nd. Click on any free place in the Graphics View and a dialog window appears.
3rd. Verify that the name of the slider is "a".
4th. Type 0 into the "min:" option on the "Interval" flap.
5th. Type 10 into the "max:" option on the "Interval" flap.
6th. Type 0.5 value into the "Range" in the "Increment" option on the "Interval" flap. Realize that the decimal numbers have a dot to separate the whole part of the decimal part.
7th. Click on "OK" button.
Activate the "Move" tool
and move the slider in order to see all the values. You can also activate the animation of the slider and the values will change automatically.
The two curved arrows located in the upper right corner of the Graphics View allow you to reset the activity.
If the activity is correct, you will get 10 points automatically.
