The tip of the gnonom is represented by point G. Use the slider to move change the time of date. As the earth rotates around the sun, the shadow is represented relative to the gonomon. The simulation assumes the sun is directly over the gnomon at 12:15 pm. Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m. and sunset is at 6:15 p.m. The length of the shadow will appear in the table.
