The algorithm for solving two-step equations may also be used to solve two-step inequalities.
2x + 8 = 28
(co-efficient) (variable) (constant)
2x+8=28
Step 1 - Add the opposite of the constant to both sides of the equation.
2x + 8 = 28
+(-8) +(-8)
2x = 20
Step 2 - Divide both sides of the equation by the co-efficient.
2x = 20
