Vector subtraction to compute the angle between 2 points.
This can be used, for instance, in 2D animation to have an object (eye) always point at another (fly) when they both move... tutorial at http://wiki.synfig.org/wiki/Doc:Point_to_one_object
move the eye or fly, and see how the "direction" angle always refers to the angle at which the eye should look at the fly.
