In this one I did a couple steps in one picture..I probably should have broken it up.
1. select the first polygon, translate it along the v vector. then select that one and do the same. keep going along side to get the rows.
2. then select the initial polygon, translate it along the u vector. Then select that one and do it again. Then just go alongside the rows to make your columns
