Parabola Focus

This demonstrates the notion of the focus of the parabola. Waves that travel a long distance (like light from the sun) are relatively parallel to each other. A parabola is in the correct shape that parallel beams, no matter where in the dish, will reflect off the parabola and intersect directly at the focus. Applications are satellite dishes that receive data, or solar energy farms which focus the suns rays to channel the suns power.
