Move the points of the triangle to change the measure of each angle.
Complete these questions on a separate sheet of paper. EVERY TIME YOU ARE WORKING WITH A NEW TRIANGLE, DRAW THAT TRIANGLE ON YOUR PAPER. LABEL ALL ANGLES. Make sure you show your work!!
1. Add up all of the angles in the triangle. What do they add to equal?
2. Move the points around however you would like. Add up these new angles. What do they add to equal?
3. Move the points to create a right triangle. What are the measures of the three angles?
4. What do that angles in your right triangle add up to equal?
5. Move the points to create a triangle with two angles that are the same. What type of triangle is this?
6. What are the measure of your angles from #5? What do they add to equal?
7. Based on this activity, what do you think the "Triangle Angle Sum Theorem" tells us?
