Divide Whole Numbers by Fractions

Directions for teachers - demonstrate for students.
1. Set the values for dividend and divisor.
2. Drag the red open point "handle" to move the divisor (blue) over the dividend (green), starting at the left edge.
3. Move a yellow "pin" to the mark right edge of the divisor.
4. Drag the handle to move the divisor to the left of the first yellow pin, and mark its right edge with another yellow pin.
5. Repeat the process, moving left to right along the dividend.
6. Examine the remainder. Determine how many parts are remaining and their size in relation to the divisor. Split the dividend into pieces that are the same size as the divisor's pieces, if needed.
