Carla has a weight hanging on a spring under a support beam. At rest, the weight hangs 4 inches down. She pulls it to 6 inches below the beam, and releases, after which it follows an oscillating harmonic motion pattern. It reaches its equilibrium point after 1.5 seconds, 4.5 seconds, 7.5 seconds, etc. It loses a certain % of it’s range of motion every second. Use the slider to find the effect of different % energy loss per second.
Note that the a value is actually the % of motion remaining (e.g. 5% loss per second yields an a value of 95% or .95)
