9 Circle Part 3: Inscribed and Central Angles
Part III Inscribed and Central Angles: Question 1-3
1. Use (Circle with Center and Radius) to create a 6 unit radius circle with centre A
2. Use (Polygon) to create a polygon with vertices on the circle with an inscribed angle and central angle. Click 3 points on the circle (BCD), (make sure C is on the opposite arc, then back to the same side), then the center (A), then to the first point of the circle (B). *Note: Do not pick points on an axis.
3. Use (Angle) to measure the central and inscribed angles. If you get the reflex angle, re-measure the angle by clicking on the points of the angle in reverse order. Eg. AOB becomes BOA.
Part III Inscribed and Central Angles: Questions 4-6 and 7
4. Use , move Point B to any other location on the arc. 5. Move Point C to any other location on the arc. 6. Move Point D to any other location on the arc. Answer the following question: 7. What do you notice with the measurement of the central and inscribed angles as you move points B, C, and D?
Part III Inscribed and Central Angles: Question 8
Repeat steps 1 – 6 with 2 other circles.
