Here's another blue circle, centered at E, that is tangent to the same two given circles. Again, the red dashed path is the set of all centers of all such circles. You can investigate the circles by dragging E, and see how the path changes by moving A, B, C, and D.
What do you notice about the red path? What shape do you think it is? Why?
