Let us calculate both the area and circumference of the circle given below. Remember: Area=(pi)(r)^2 Circumference=2(pi)r Where r=4 is the radius of the circle. Next, given the circumference is 24 units, what is the area of the circle now?
What do you notice as a difference between the area and circumference formulas? Any similarities? What happens when r continues to increase? How about decrease? Does A have to be in the center of the circle for these formulas to be true? Why or why not?
