Finding the modulus
- Celeste Glenn
Step 1: Drag and stretch the two vectors (arrows) to create the vertical and horizontal distances from the origin to each complex number. Step 2: Then find the modulus of each complex number. Enter exact values. For square roots use sqrt(). (For example √2 is sqrt(2)). When you have found the correct answer go to the next problem.
Remember that the modulus is the complex number’s distance from zero. You can find it by using a form of the Pythagorean Theorem.
