Proposition 35: Parallelograms with are on the same base and in the same parallels are equal to one another.
We want to show that the two parallelograms, ABCD and EBCF, are equivalent. That is, each of the parallelograms can be split into smaller parts such that each part of one parallelogram has a congruent part in the other.
