Parallel lines exploration

Author:
tresnap
Topic:
Straight Lines
I want you to discover something very important about the slopes of parallel lines.
GeoGebra Applet
1) Use the tool buttons to find the slope of each line. The slope is part of the angle menu and the angle menu is the 7th button from the left. 2) Select "slope" and click on each line. The slopes appear in the algebra column on the left. 3) What do you notice about the slopes of the parallel lines? 4) Click on the Select arrow, and click and drag Point A or B. What happens to the slopes when the lines move? 5) Are the slopes of the parallel lines ever different from each other?
