Using a limit to calculate an irregular area

Drag the slider "Fade" to fade in and out the image. Click on the check box "Show function" to model the top of the building with a function. Drag the slider "n" to fill the area of the building front with greater numbers of rectangles. Click on the other check boxes to reveal different information about the are of the building front. Click on the red button to see what happens when you try to use an infinite number of rectangles to calculate the area of the building front. Click on the white button to see how calculus uses limits to solve the problem of finding area.
