C02 Creating teaching materials
I would like to use GeoGebra in teaching middle school Geometry. This geometry course will be taught as a discovery/investigatory course. GeoGebra will be used to investigate student's preconception of geometry concepts. As topics are introduced, the students will be asked to formulate conjectures about these topics. Then GeoGebra will be used to support or disprove those conjectures:
GeoGebra will be used, but not be limited, to investigate the following topics:
Angles: Vertical, Parallel lines cut by a transversal, Sum of the angles in a polygon, Exterior angles, etc...
Congruent/Similar Triangles: ASA, SSS, SAS, SSA, AAA, SAA
Points of Concurrency: Centroid, Circumcenter, Orthocenter, Incenter
Basic Constructions: Midpoint, Perpendicular line, Parallel lines, angle bisector, Perpendicular bisector, etc...
Circle Properties: Chords, Secants, Tangents, Inscribed Angles, Inscribed Quadrilaterals
Transformations: Reflections, Rotations, Translations, Dilations
Exploring Trigonometric Ratios:
Tesselations:
