SSA CaseIn triangle ABC, angle A is fixed to be 45 degrees and side AC is fixed to have length 4.24. Slide B to see how many triangles you can make that will have CB to have length 4.5. Then look at triangle FGH. Angle G is fixed to be 135 degrees and side FG is fixed to have length 4.24. Slide point F to see how many triangles you can make that will have FH to have length 9. What do you think would happen if we made a new triangle MNO that would have M fixed to be 90 degree, MN to have length 4.24 and NO to have length 8? How many triangles could be formed that meet this SSA criterion? Jackie Southard, July 24, 2008, Created with GeoGebra |
