Absolute Value Graphs

Below are graphs of the absolute value functions f(x) = c*abs( x +a ) + b and g(x) = abs( x ).
We will explore how different values change the graph by comparing g(x) (which is fixed) and f(x).

1. Move the slider a. How does it change the appearance of the absolute value graph?
2. Move the slider b. How does it change the appearance of the absolute value graph?
3. Move the slider c. How does it change the appearance of the absolute value graph?
4. What rules can you come up with about absolute value graphs and constant terms either being added or multiplied to the absolute value?
